I can Dance!

It’s been quite a little while since my last update, so I thought today might be a good day for a progress report on my development. Key facts are as follows:

  • I have six teeth which I use mainly for taking small ‘mouse bites’ from the surface of apples, and biting Mummy and Madla.  It’s very funny the way they squeal when I do.
  • I am an excellent walker – although sometimes I am a bit unstable, especially on rough ground.
  • I have an extensive vocabulary including such pearls from the lexographer’s treasury as; ‘car’, ‘bus’, ‘digger’, ‘cow’, ‘there’, ‘no’, ‘baaa’ (sheep), ‘woof woof’ and everyone’s favourite word, ‘Babooka!’  Nobody knows what it means, but if I say it with sufficient gusto, everyone seems to laugh!
  • I can speak a little Czech too.
  • As you can see from the video, I am a talented dancer
  • I am exceptionally tall for my age
  • I am also exceptionally skinny for my age. In combination, these last two create some interesting challenges for my Mummy clothing-wise.  I’m more than a year old, but still wearing trousers for six-month-olds.  The thing is that, on me, they’re not trousers, they’re shorts (and they keep falling down too. Grrr)

Personality wise, I am strong and determined, but also very impatient, an attribute I apparently inherited from my sister.

I just had my first birthday and I am really enjoying watching the Rugby World Cup.

That’s enough for now.  I don’t want to over do-it.  Perhaps I’ll blog again soon.

I had a Christening, and My Granny came to Visit

I had a christening last weekend. A christening is a big party where lots of people come and talk to me, look at me and poke me, and a man puts some water and stuff on my head.

I usually don’t like baths at all, but this was different and quite nice. Also lots of people were taking photos of me, so I felt very famous and important.

After the christening, I had a nice drink of milk, and all the other people there had nice drinks too.

My Granny came to stay in our house for my christening. I love my Granny very much and she loves me too.

My Granny is quite old. That’s probably why she forgot about the doorbell . . . . but she’s not so old that she couldn’t climb over the six-for high garden fence instead. She’s very funny, My Granny!

Mummy and Daddy had a lovely week, and really enjoyed having Granny here. My big sister Madla enjoyed it very much too, and Granny took her to school everyday and gave her lots of cuddles (and presents). We were all very sad when she went home.

Here’s a photo of me looking very blond.

I don’t think it’ll last

A very expensive trip

Last night we went to the hospital again.

What happened was that I was fast asleep when suddenly I woke up and started screaming in horrible pain – I had a very very sore tummy.

So I was screaming in pain so much that I could hardly breathe. Mummy and Daddy were very frightened, and decided to rush me to hospital before I died. Daddy was really clever and remembered to turn off the dinner he was cooking and the cake Mummy was making as we ran out the door. We jumped in the car and drove off at full speed to the hospital. Almost immediately, we realised that the front left tire was totally flat. Of course, normally, we would have turned around and taken the other car. But because I was dying, Mummy and Daddy, kept going, just like in an exciting action film.

So the total cost of our trip to the hospital was:

  • 90 CZK Emergency room fee
  • One destoyed tyre
  • A new wheel rim?
  • One lost hubcap
  • One burnt gingerbread cake
  • A lot of stress and worry
  • Some very soggy spaghetti

Of course this cost is irrelevant as I am far more valuable to Mummy and Daddy than say, a hubcap.

When we got to the hospital, they ran me directly into the doctor. As he was examining me, I did a little fart, and stopped sreaming as suddenly as I had started.

Then I gave the doctor a lovely smile, and we all went home and had a drink. I had milk, Mummy and Daddy had something stronger.

Needles in my eyes

Yesterday I went to the hospital again. Nothing serious this time.

Pretty much since I was born I have had an infection in my tear ducts. So I always have ‘sleep in my eyes’ even when I haven’t just woken up.

My Mummy and Daddy tried lots of different things, including antibiotic eye drops, but nothing seemed to work.

So yesterday we went to the hospital and they stuck wires in my tear ducts. I didn’t like that, but I am a brave boy, so I did not complain too much.

I hope it worked. So far, so good anyway.

In other news, I am growing well, and wriggle a lot. I can lie on my front for a bit and lift my head up for a while, which is very good apparently.

I am a happy and quite relaxed child.

Nobody Loves Me?

I imagine that when I get older, I will compare my blog with Madla’s and notice that at this stage in her life she had a lot more entries than me.

If I was an insecure person, I would assume that this is because second children are never as special as first children, but as a well balanced individual, I will understand that the main difference is that two children are much much harder work than one (especially when the oldest one can be a very naughty little girl sometimes)

So here’s my news since my last post:

  • First and most importantly, I am much bigger and stronger.  I am growing nicely, but I’m still not very good at sleeping (although I am getting better)
  • I had a bit of a health scare a few weeks ago, and I had to go to hospital for a quite big operation. Mummy and Daddy were very very worried, but everything turned out just fine, and I am a very healthy boy
  • I still don’t approve of bathing. It seems entirely unnatural, not to mention unnecessary
  • I smile a lot at people and things.
  • My main hobby at present is using the toy I have above my bed as a punching bag. I am trying hard to kill it, but it keeps coming back for more!

My Daddy will try to be better at posting from now on.  He promises

I had a bath yesterday

I don’t like baths at all.  I hope I don’t have to have any more.

I am getting bigger, but only very slowly.

Mummy and Daddy were a bit worried that I wasn’t growing fast enough, so they took me to the doctor again this morning.  The doctor says that everything is fine and they shouldn’t worry.

Mummy and Daddy are a bit tired, especially Mummy. I can’t understand why this should be as I only wake up once every hour.  That leaves plenty of time for sleep!

My Big Sister is much bigger than me

SDC11084

I hope she never gets cross with me!

Today we went to the doctor for a check-up.  I am gaining weight well and am fine.  The cycle of my life remains constant; sleep, cry, drink sleep cry drink sleep etc.   It’s possible I may have a bath this evening . .or tomorrow.   Sometime soon anyway/

I am at home

Becasue I am growing well, and have no health problems, today the doctors told Mummy  that I could go home.

Madla and daddy came and picked me and Mummy up and took us home,  I like our house very much.  It’s very clean and tidy.  It’s very nice being at home.  Here’s a picture of Daddy and Madla taking me home:

I have a nice comfortable bed so I can continue my favourite hobby (sleeping),  Here’s a picture of me in my nice bed at home:

Yum yum

I am gaining weight now and doing everything that I should be doing. Here’s a picture of me with my Daddy. He is very proud of me.

The doctors want to do one more final check tommorrow, and, if I pass, I will be going home.  I’m looking forward to that very much!
